The Problem: Everyone Sends the Same AI Email
Aurasell, an AI prospecting company, presented its approach at SaaStr AI Day with a pointed thesis: third-party data creates commoditised outbound. When every sales team buys from ZoomInfo or Apollo, every AI agent writes similar emails to the same contacts.
Co-founder and CEO Jason Eubanks, alongside CMO Steve and head of product Richa, demonstrated a prospecting agent that mines first-party CRM data instead. Meeting transcripts, internal Slack threads, past email exchanges. The kind of context no external database carries.
Their SDR operation books 14 to 16 meetings per week. Worth noting: roughly 60% still come from human-assisted cold calling, with most of the remainder through LinkedIn. The AI handles research and sequencing, not replacement.
First Meeting Came From a Fish Tank
The first booked meeting opened with a subject line asking whether the prospect's home fish tank was still thriving. No one on the SDR team had mentioned a fish tank. The agent found it in a meeting transcript from over a year earlier, when timing had not worked out.
Steve was clear: a personal detail alone does not book meetings. The fish tank hook led into a specific business problem. Recency matters too. Aurasell tracks how old a signal can be before it stops converting.
No Fixed Sequences
Richa's product demo showed the main differentiation: no fixed cadence. The agent builds a plan per contact and replans after every signal. One prospect gets nine steps, another gets seven. When a contact opens three emails and clicks links but does not reply, the next step changes from email to a phone call.
Job changes become an opportunity rather than a dead record. The agent finds the person's new employer and email, then identifies their replacement at the old company. When LinkedIn data is stale, it searches news and press coverage.
Market Context
The category is crowded: ZoomInfo, Apollo, 6sense, Outreach, Clay, Nooks, plus AI-native CRM vendors like Attio and Clarify. Global CRM and sales-intelligence startups raised about US$3.7 billion in 2024. Nooks announced a US$43 million Series B in October.
For ANZ sales teams, the relevance is data quality and productivity. Inaccurate titles, employer changes, and duplicated third-party data distort territory planning and outbound sequencing quickly. Lean teams cannot afford wasted touches.
