SQC hires GlobalFoundries CFO
Silicon Quantum Computing hired John Hollister as CFO, effective 17 August. He was previously CFO at semiconductor manufacturer GlobalFoundries and spent 11 years as CFO at Silicon Labs. He is US-based and will run global financial strategy.
SQC was founded in 2017 by Prof. Michelle Simmons, closed a $50.4 million Series A in 2023 at a $195 million valuation, and recently secured an additional $40 million from the National Reconstruction Fund. The company has 70+ engineers and is building commercial-scale quantum computers using atomic-precision manufacturing.
Hollister's hire follows chief legal officer Karna Nisewaner joining in June. Both bring semiconductor industry experience as SQC moves from R&D to commercialisation.
RedBelly Network adds payments CEO
RedBelly Network announced in September that Christian Westerlind Wigstrom will start as CEO in November. He previously co-founded and led Monoova, a payments business, which signals RedBelly is pushing into regulated fintech and tokenisation infrastructure rather than pure blockchain R&D.
The Sydney-based company lists Vincent Gramoli as founder and CTO, Alan Burt as executive chairman, and Kim Bartlett as COO. The move from founder-led to commercial leadership is standard for companies shifting from technical development to revenue.
RedBelly is targeting regulated tokenisation and payments infrastructure. That puts it against fintech rails and digital-asset infrastructure firms, not typical blockchain startups.
Other moves
Connected-TV technology startup allt appointed Meliora Creative managing partner Clive Dickens to its board. He brings media, technology and digital transformation experience and has taken a stake in the business. Led by CEO James Forster, allt develops technology that connects viewers' mobile phones with television content in real time.
Worth noting: these are leadership and board appointments, not sales team hiring announcements. SQC and RedBelly are both at the stage where commercial strategy matters more than headcount expansion. For sales professionals tracking ANZ deep tech, the CFO and CEO hires suggest both companies are preparing for larger enterprise deals or strategic partnerships rather than hiring SDR teams.
