The Numbers
SaaStr deployed an AI agent called Amelia (built on Qualified's Piper platform, now owned by Salesforce) to handle inbound sponsorship enquiries. Across roughly 2.2 million website sessions and 440,000 interactions, the agent booked 614 qualified meetings. Average sponsorship ticket: $85,000. Closed revenue: more than $1 million. Pipeline generated: $2.5 million.
In one month, 71% of SaaStr's closed-won sponsorship deals originated from AI-qualified inbound leads. Total sponsorship revenue for the cycle was about $10 million.
What It Replaced
The old process: contact form on Squarespace, manual AE routing, follow-up in two to three days when someone got to it. After one SaaStr Annual event, Jason Lemkin found roughly 1,000 sponsor enquiries in Salesforce that never received any human follow-up. High-intent inbound leads asking to write cheques, ignored.
SaaStr estimates Amelia's workload would have required approximately three BDRs. The company now runs its events business with three human staff and more than 20 AI agents.
The Vendor Context
Qualified provides AI-powered B2B website conversion and inbound qualification software. Salesforce acquired the company and positioned it within Agentforce. SaaStr's agent connects to Salesforce workflows and CRM.
The story is not about a shiny new AI vendor. It is about a B2B events business using existing AI tooling to handle inbound at scale, eliminate response-time lag, and close revenue that was previously falling through manual routing gaps.
What It Means
If you are running inbound through forms, manual qualification, and SDR follow-up measured in days, you are leaking pipeline. The highest-ROI place to deploy an AI agent is probably the most boring page on your site: the contact form.
Worth noting: this works when average deal size is $85k and the product is event sponsorships. The model may not translate directly to lower-ticket SaaS with longer sales cycles. But the core problem (slow inbound response, dropped leads, BDR capacity constraints) applies across most B2B sales orgs.
